The tradition of the Purnima Bhajan Sandhya
Many samajs keep the tradition of holding a Bhajan Sandhya on the full moon each month. Purnima is regarded as a particularly auspicious date in the Hindu calendar, and fixing the event to a regular monthly date makes it easy for members of the samaj to attend. That turns the event into a standing monthly gathering as well, where people catch up with one another.
