Ahmedabad’s New Ranip turned devotional on 4 May 2026, when a grand Bhajan Sandhya was held to mark the wedding anniversary of Pawan Sharma and Manisha Sharma.
A saint from Vrindavan graces the evening
The occasion was blessed by the presence of Saint Anirudh Ramanujdas Maharaj, who had come from Shridham Vrindavan. His bhajans and discourses filled the air with devotion.
Devotees lost in devotion
Devotees attended in large numbers and were absorbed in the saint’s bhajans. The whole evening remained steeped in devotion.
When saints come to visit
The practice of inviting saints from Vrindavan, Ayodhya or the pilgrimage centres of Rajasthan carries particular weight at events in Ahmedabad. A saint’s presence lifts an event beyond a musical programme into a spiritual occasion, where discourse and katha are woven in between the bhajans.
A private occasion, a shared celebration
Turning a private occasion such as a wedding anniversary into a public Bhajan Sandhya is part of this samaj’s open-handed tradition, in which one family’s joy becomes the joy of the whole neighbourhood.
Discourse and bhajan together
At events graced by a saint, katha and discourse are interspersed with the bhajans. Listeners come away with more than the pleasure of the music — they also hear what the scriptures have to say about the values by which people live.
