A joyful Holi celebration was held for elderly residents of old-age homes at Aneri Farm House in Bhadaj, Ahmedabad. The programme was organised jointly by Pir Parai Foundation, Parivartan and Peed Parai Sevashram.
Music, games and colour
The whole evening was filled with music, games and colour, and the elderly guests joined in with enthusiasm.
Free treatment announced
The chief guest, Rajasthan Hospital chairman P. R. Kankaria, announced free treatment for elderly patients referred by the foundation.
Festivals for the elderly
For elderly people living in old-age homes, festivals often become a time of loneliness, with no family beside them. Community organisations celebrating a festival with them is therefore not a formality but the meeting of a deep emotional need.
Three organisations, one effort
That three organisations worked together shows how partnership in service work widens both reach and impact.
Why medical support matters
Medical expenses are the greatest worry for the elderly. A hospital’s offer of free treatment is a considerable relief for these organisations, freeing their limited resources for other needs.
